ALIA Productions is excited to announce the addition of the emerging talent Meklit Hadero, and veteran Emeline Michel to our roster.

Meklit Hadero wowed us with her performance at Bimbo's in SF for her debut CD release party. Clearly Meklit's stage presence, unusual harmonies and vocal technique, and her wonderful lyrics are a harbinger of
a great career unfolding. With that release she has attracted two NPR interviews, gotten picked up by Starbucks where her music is now being played in 6500 cafes around the country, and will showcase next week at etown in their Boulder home. Her debut in NYC at Le Poisson Rouge attracted a heady crowd of NY performing arts and literary luminaries, and was swiftly followed y an offer to become an Artist-in-Residence at NYU for the spring of 2011. More on that later.

Emeline Michel has been busy running halfway around the world to perform at the Harare Festival in Zimbabwe, with more dates in Switzerland, Guadaloupe, and NYC. She recently performed as part of Time-Warner's celebration of their employees who raised a substantial amount of money for the victims of the earthquake in Haiti. As Daniel Osheyack, Vice President for Philanthropic Services wrote Emeline after the show: "you gave a wonderful performance and added real beauty and meaning to the event today. We were honored and privileged to have you and your great musicians with us. Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
We welcome this lovely artist whose heartfelt performances never fail to remind us of our humanity.

And we are delighted to welcome Etran Finatawa to North America this summer with a 3 week tour starting at the renowned Winnipeg Folk Festival, and culminating at Lincoln Center Outdoors Festival Aug 1. Please check their page for this summer's itinerary.
